About PCS
Welcome to the
Princeton Christian School website. We are a private school located in South Miami-Dade County. We
Princeton
Christian School is accredited by: Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation (CITA) Princeton Christian School has also received the Gold Seal Status from the Florida Department of Children and Families and is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association. Princeton Christian School was established in 1957 by a group of concerned Christians from the Princeton Church of the Nazarene who knew the importance of a Christian education for their children. The school began with elementary grades and with time added the junior high and then the senior high to complete the school. Many people have gone from PCS into varied walks of life with training to live a vibrant Christian life. We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and that Jesus Christ is the son of God who came to earth to die for the sins of mankind. That salvation is by grace through the faith in the atoning blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and that those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and His salvation enter into a personal relationship with Him. The Bible is the inspired word of God and is the source for guidance in matters of faith and the principles of everyday life. Christians should live in harmony with one another. Most importantly, Christian's should portray Christ's love for His creation toward all people regardless of their race, origin or ethnic background as well as toward the environment. We
view the school as being in partnership with the home in the God commissioned responsibility of training children. Princeton's most
important contributions to this are academic training and social development within
a The Princeton Christian School is a ministry of Princeton Church of the Nazarene. As such, the school is ultimately accountable to the Church Board of Princeton Church of the Nazarene as a standing committee. The Princeton Christian School Board is elected by the Church Board of the Princeton Church of the Nazarene. The School Board is the policy making body of the school. Administering these policies is the direct responsibility of the school administration. Communication between the faculty and the board will be through the school administration. The Superintendent will be selected by the Board to implement the educational goals, academic objectives, and spiritual development of the school. He/she, assisted by area Principals, is responsible for the administration of the school and will report monthly to the School Board (and the Church Board as requested) on the progress of the school. Prospective teachers are recruited, interviewed, and tentatively selected by respective school principals. Teachers are contracted by the School Board upon the recommendation of the school principals with approval of the Faculty Review Board. Princeton Christian School, founded in 1957, is a non-profit, accredited, private Christian school, spanning three, four and five year old kindergartens through the twelfth grade. While we are a ministry of the Princeton Church of the Nazarene, most of our support comes from tuition, fees, and tax-deductible gifts. Eligibility Students are eligible for admission to Princeton Christian School without regard to race, creed, color, or national origin, depending on the entrance exam score and records from previous school. Three, four and five-year-old kindergarten students must reach their age requirements by September 1 of that year to be placed in their classes. Academics Princeton Christian uses a Bible-centered curriculum. Instruction in the tenets of Biblical Christianity is provided so that students may grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in emphasizing the "basics" of education. Therefore, core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Bible) receive primary emphasis and are quite challenging. Credits are transferable. The Stanford Achievement test is administered yearly to monitor the progress of our students. Our dedicated teachers are college graduates (many with advanced degrees and Florida certification), FACCS certified, and dedicated to providing the best possible Christian education for our students.
